Korroboree online school is our response to the 4th Industrial Revolution.
We can see that technology has accelerated the rate at which things around us are changing, with this continuous uncertainty we at Korroboree wanted to build a curriculum that will prepare learners to deal with a dynamically changing environment.

At Korroboree we believe in keeping the quest of questioning alive and as we began to ask questions from a learners perspective we realised that a lot needs to change and a learning environment where learners see learning as an adventurous quest was created.

The instructional design team is led by Ms Lina Ashar a pioneer in the education space for the last 25+ years as well as Divya Punjabi.

Our technology-supported pedagogy is innovative, and grounded in research, of how a learner best learns, interacts, and thinks of ideas. The focus is on learners creating something new from what has been actively learned. The best theories in what leads to deep learning and innovative thinking underpins our methodology.

The learning framework also develops thinking habits and skills that excite learners to become everything they are capable of becoming.
Our Readers are designed to create intrigue in the learner and make learning fun and interesting where each learner learns according to their individual interest, talent and skills.

We have also partnered with like-minded companies like Mindbox (coding, design and animation) as well as Dreamshapers (project based learning tool).

Korroboree online school uses Dreamtime learning design, which encourages the learner to learn, and naturally discover their true passion.

We believe that learner outcome is dependent on the instructional input, a trained learning coach and great digital infrastructure. The learning framework also develops thinking habits and skills that excite learners to become everything they are capable of becoming.

We are proposing to apply to the Cambridge/ Pearson Qualifications to offer globally recognised International GCSE (IGCSE) and International A Level qualification to learners aged 14-18.

Learners will interact with successful people from all walks of life including those that have found meaning and success through a physical sport or performing art. So, while they will have knowledge, understanding and exploration of various types of sports and performing arts they will need to explore this outside of the Korroboree sessions. One of the reasons for this is that we find that physical sport and performing arts education is too generalised and learners of mixed ages and abilities do the same class and practice the same skills so learning the technical skills of that specific sport or performing art is usually done outside of school in any case. However, the implicit skills learned from these areas of study and practice such as collaboration, public speaking, teamwork and the confidence that occurs with public performance will be learned by our learners through the sessions.

Other important FAQ’s

Our curriculum is designed to create intrigue which in turn engages learners to find out and experience what they are learning. The learning design is based on high interest and interaction. Our primary goal when creating the instructional design is a love of learning.

Our instructional design ensures we have enough deep coverage of content as well as practice. Homework drill is not required. Homework has always occupied a central position in the culture of schooling over the last decades. However, there is now a growing trend within the education community that advocates a 'no-homework' policy. Authors such as Sara Bennett , Nancy Kalish (Author), John Buell, among many others, do not see any relation between doing homework and academic achievement especially for young learners. They also claim that views advocating the use of homework with kids are not supported by empirical evidence.

Our curriculum is designed to eliminate tutions. If the learner is finding learning of a concept challenging, they can go through the recorded sessions to revise the concept or they can approach the learning with their queries and the learning coach will guide learners in a one on one session.

Between each period we will take a 5 min break and learners will be requested to close their screens and rest their eyes along with a few eye relaxation exercises. Also, as an organisation, we understand this concern and have limited the duration of classes between 2 to 5 hours depending on the grade.

The learning coach will go through experiential training where our trainers and curriculum designers will train them on how to conduct a class and make the session interactive. The learning coach will be trained in implementing the Dreamtime Learning System. Our trainers will also observe classes on a regular basis to make sure the desired outcome is achieved.
